For work

A free time tracker for work — no account, no IT approval, no cost

Most work time trackers assume your employer bought them. One Day Tracker works the other way round: it's a free tool you control, for structuring your own workday and proving where your hours went.

Why track your own work hours?

Three common reasons. First, timesheets: if your job requires logging hours and you're reconstructing your week from memory every Friday, a running log fixes that in one move. Second, workload evidence: when you're negotiating flexible working, a pay review, or pushing back on scope creep, "here's exactly where my 40 hours go" is far stronger than a feeling. Third, focus: seeing that meetings and email consumed 60% of a day you'd planned for deep work is often the wake-up call that changes how you plan.

How it works for a typical workday

Plan your day in the morning — block out tasks with categories like Work, Meetings, Admin, or Deep Focus. As the day runs, log what actually happened against each block, or run the built-in focus timer while you work. At the end of the day, the planned-vs-actual view shows you the gap. At the end of the week, the 7-day analytics view shows the pattern.

When you need a timesheet, export everything to CSV — task names, times, durations — ready to paste into whatever system your employer uses.

Why no account matters at work

Workplace tools usually mean IT approval, admin setup, or at minimum another password. One Day Tracker skips all of it: it's a web page. Your data stays in your own browser's local storage — nothing is uploaded to a server, so there's no third-party service holding records of your workday, and nothing for a workplace security policy to object to.

FAQ

Can I use this without my employer setting anything up?

Yes. It runs in your browser with no account, no installation and no admin approval needed.

How do I prove my work hours to my manager?

Track your tasks through the day, then export a CSV timesheet showing what you worked on, when, and for how long — useful for reviews, timesheet submissions or flexible-working discussions.

What if my company already uses Toggl or Clockify?

Keep using the company tool for anything your employer requires — this works alongside it as your own personal view of the day. Some people track in both: the company tool for billing, One Day Tracker for planning.
